Single or multiple implants
At Goodwyn Dental Practice we aim to deliver the best outcome with our dental implants which are tailored to each individual’s needs. We use Straumann Implants which are known to be the
global gold standard in implant and aesthetic dentistry.
Implants are a way of replacing missing teeth without affecting the adjacent teeth. They are titanium screws that go into the bone to act as an anchor for the tooth crown. Over a period of time the titanium screw fuses to the bone providing the stability and allowing proper chewing function.
How does it work?
Initial Consultation
Here we will discuss your wants and needs in order to get you the result you are happy with.
Radiographs
This is vital in our decision making. A 3D scan is needed in order to guide
us on how your bone looks as well as where we will be placing the implant.
Treatment Planning
Here we will go through your treatment, what is involved, time frames and pricing.
Placement of Implant
All done in chair with no need to go anywhere else, the implant is placed with a lot of precision due to our advanced instruments and techniques.
Healing
We have to wait 3-4 months for the implant to bind to your own bone and for the rest of the area to heal.
Final Restoration
The final bridge or crowns are then placed which are made to measure to match the rest of your mouth to complete your smile.
Difference between single & multiple implants
- Single Tooth Implant: This is replacing 1 tooth that is failing or missing. We can do this without compromising the teeth on either side. This is a great fixed option.
- Multiple Tooth Implant: 2 or more implants are placed in an area where the teeth are failing or missing. We then either place individual crowns or a bridge over these implants to gain the aesthetic and masticatory function.
