How can you strengthen your teeth?
There are many ways to keep your teeth healthy and clean, below are a few that can help...
1) Brush and Floss regularly - Brushing twice a day with Electric or Manual toothbrush helps keep bacteria away. Flossing or using Interproximal brushes allows us to remove the unwanted bacteria from inbetween the teeth that your toothbrush can’t get into.
2) Flouride toothpaste - this protects your teeth against decay and slows down the production of bacteria caused by plaque.
3) Reduce Sugary and Acidic food and Drinks - This is one of the leading causes of tooth decay, these foods enhance the bacteria in the plaque to produce acid which then breaks down your enamel. If you do want to indulge a little bit, drink plenty of water after or better yet brush your teeth after.
4) Eat enamel strengthening foods - Calcium rich foods e.g. dairy products, nuts and green vegetables help to strengthen the teeth and Vitamin C and A rich e.g peppers, broccoli, sweet potato, help protects teeth from decay
5) Regular Dental Checkups - every 6 month checkups are the best as the dentist can keep an eye on your mouth incase you have any dental problems and quickly resolve this to prevent more invasive treatment.
